Christian Katris is an experienced musician and arborist from Magna, Utah. Best known for his warm and friendly personality, engaging acoustic guitar performances and passion for computers and video games. His favorite video game is a toss up between Metroid and Tetris, his favorite composer is Koji Kondo.

He graduated from Cyprus High School in 2011 where he played with the high school's jazz band and worked in a pet store. Shortly after he attended Salt Lake Community College to pursue an associates degree. Leaning into what he knew about music and technology Christian continued to study, carving out unique perspectives on both musical concepts and computing.

Some Other Blues started out in 2014 as just a song idea but quickly grew into something more as Christian continued to develop his own musical styles and themes. Inspired by Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Neil Young, he set out to have a band and an album with a sound all it's own. The album's theme centers around the lonely blue feelings of life in the era of mega cities, alienating technology, and gigantic corporate entities and takes a contrast with warm musical passages and in-you're-face lyrics.

Christian moved to Midway, Utah in 2018 to pursue an apprenticeship in arboriculture which he completed in 2020. Since then he has worked as an independent arborist serving his local community. He has been on Heber City's Tree Advisory Board, is a current member of the Utah Community Forest Council, and has judged several times for the ISA Utah Chapter's international annual tree climbing competition.

During his winter seasons from 2018 to 2023 Christian played a vital role at the Midway Ice Castles as a lighting technician and builder. Heber Valley Jazz Ensemble enlisted Katris as their guitar player in 2023, around the same time that he began performing professionally in the local music circuit. Quickly making a name for himself as a performer, Katris dedicates more time toward his craft.

With the support and the success of a handful of local venues Christian Katris remains a trusted leader and partner in live music. In 2025 he launched Local Talent US, a live music booking and promotion company with local talent as it's backbone.

Nowadays Christian can be found performing his signature blues, planting trees, and building Meccano. Among his favorite bands are CHAI, Fieh, Mecano, and the Will Baxter Band.
